What to Expect
A Supportive Start for Your Child’s Speech & Language Journey
Getting started with speech therapy can feel overwhelming — but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s a step-by-step look at what to expect when you begin services with Growing Voices.

Free Consultation Call
We’ll begin with a free phone consultation to talk through your concerns, your child’s communication strengths and challenges, and determine next steps. This is a chance to share your family’s unique story and decide whether services should take place at home, school, or both.

Schedule an Evaluation
If appropriate, we’ll schedule a comprehensive evaluation following our call. This helps us better understand your child’s communication needs and establish a baseline for therapy.

Intake Paperwork
After the evaluation is scheduled, you’ll receive an email with intake paperwork to complete. This includes information about your child’s development, education, speech, language, feeding, and more — so we can approach therapy with a full picture in mind.

Insurance & Payment
Growing Voices operates as a private pay (out-of-network) provider.
I do not bill insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide a Superbill you can submit for possible reimbursement.
Please check with your insurance provider to understand out-of-network coverage. A physician referral may be required.
If you don’t plan to seek reimbursement, no referral is needed.

The Evaluation
The evaluation includes a parent interview and a combination of informal observations and standardized assessments, depending on your child’s needs.
You’ll receive a detailed report outlining:Communication strengths and challenges
Baseline data
Functional, family-centered goals
Recommendations for therapy
This report will be securely emailed and can be shared with your pediatrician or other providers.

Treatment Sessions
Each therapy session is tailored to your child’s specific goals and interests. I use a play-based, child-led approach grounded in functional communication.
Progress is continuously tracked and strategies are adjusted as needed.
Parent participation and observation are encouraged for better carryover at home.
I’ll share updates regularly so you always know how your child is progressing and how you can support their growth.
